Sena's solo exhibition "5", consisting of works produced in different techniques, can be seen at The Empire Project between 23 October and 29 November. The exhibition, which consists of canvas, paper, stone sculpture and three-dimensional experiments, takes its subject from the elements of the life cycle that become invisible because they are taken for granted. The works revolve around issues such as home, family, women, body, birth and death, which the artist constantly questions in his art. The area where these seemingly individual experiences meet the social one attracts the artist's attention. It is also possible to come across traces of a state of discomfort beyond questioning in the artist's creations, as in his works dealing with the murders of women and children.
Sena was born in Istanbul in 1982. Sena, who graduated from the Graphic Arts and Design Department of Central Saint Martins, University of Arts London, England, in 2006, carried out art projects within the scope of social responsibility projects between 2005 and 2008 and took part in various exhibitions in Istanbul and England. He was one of the two creators of the independent art platform "Tershane", which was formed in 2006. Following his solo exhibition "2" at x-ist in 2009, he met with art lovers with his solo exhibitions "3Gen" in 2010 and "Fantastic 4" in 2011.
